Pedestrian Dies in Fair Oaks Hit-and-Run Crash

 
FAIR OAKS, CA (January 27, 2020)—A man died Friday night following a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Fair Oaks Boulevard near New York Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers received word that a man had been struck by a vehicle in the westbound lane of Fair Oaks Boulevard around 10:36 p.m.
 
Officers found the 27-year-old Sacramento man lying on the right lane of the street just before firefighters declared him dead.
 
According to witnesses, a dark-colored sedan traveling at approximately 35 to 40 mph in the right lane struck him and continued without stopping. Moments before the crash, the victim had been asked to leave a pub for behaving extremely intoxicated.
 
Authorities are piecing together details in this crash and seeking witnesses’ insight into locating the driver’s whereabouts.
