One Fatally Hurt in Boulevard Fiery Accident on Crestwood Road Off-ramp
BOULEVARD, CA (June 4, 2019) – A man driving a truck suffered fatal injuries in a fiery crash on Sunday morning, June 2.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at the Crestwood Road off-ramp from 8 Freeway just after 4 a.m.
The CHP said the victim drove a Toyota Tundra at a suspected high rate of speed toward the off-ramp. Then he drifted into the center median for unknown reasons.
After crashing into a metal guardrail lining the median, the Tundra went off the freeway. The impact ejected the driver and ignited a fire that engulfed the truck in flames.
Due to the extensive fire, the man remains unidentified. However, the CHP said that the driver appeared to be a black male adult with short and thin stature, possibly affiliated with the military.
Officials urge any person with information about the incident and/or the identity of the driver to call the El Cajon CHP office at 619-401-2000.
