One Struck and Injured by Vehicle in Accident on Main Street

 
Chula Vista, CA (December 1, 2020) – On Monday, a 35-year-old man was injured in a pedestrian accident on Main Street and Oleander Avenue.
 
The accident took place at about 8:35 p.m. east of Interstate 805 where the pedestrian was struck by a 2002 Honda sedan.
 
Police spokeswoman Miriam Foxx said the victim sustained major trauma to his head and body.
 
Immediately, medics took him to a hospital with non-fatal injuries.
 
As of early Tuesday, the victim is still in critical condition in an intensive care unit.
 
Meanwhile, authorities administered a breath test to the Honda’s driver at the scene. Police do not suspect the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
 
Police closed westbound Main Street between Oleander and Interstate 805 for about four hours. They reopened the roadway a little before 1 a.m.
 
Details about how the collision occurred were not immediately available.
