Pedestrian Accident Reported in Eureka
EUREKA, CA (November 25, 2019) — A car struck and injured a man in a pedestrian accident on Harris Street and California Street Friday evening.
According to reports, the crash occurred near the Shell gas station around 5:30 p.m. In addition, the Eureka police department and the Humboldt Bay Fire arrived soon after.
The driver reportedly informed officials that she did not see the male pedestrian. She attempted a left turn onto West Harris Street from California Street when she hit the victim.
Shortly after, paramedics brought the injured victim, who sustained facial injuries. As a result, officials transported them to a nearby hospital while investigators questioned the driver at the scene.
The Authorities will determine the liability of the crash once they outline the details.
There are countless ways to minimize the dangers of pedestrian accidents. Keep a two- to three-second cushion from the car driving ahead, slow down around neighborhoods and school zones, make eye contact with pedestrians and never drive while under the influence.
