Man Hit, Injured by Car in San Marcos Pedestrian Accident on Nordahl Road
SAN MARCOS, CA (July 18, 2019) – An impaired man suffered injuries Wednesday after a pedestrian accident on Nordahl Road at Highway 78.
According to Deputy Cornelius Van Nieuwenhuyzen of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the crash happened around 4:40 p.m.
When deputies responded, they determined that a 39-year-old woman struck the pedestrian. In their investigation, police learned that the man had fallen out of his wheelchair after it had rolled off the sidewalk. After that, the woman driving the vehicle subsequently struck him on the on-ramp.
As a result, paramedics brought him to a hospital with serious, yet non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officials. Investigators quickly learned that DUI did play a role in the incident. However, police are conducting an investigation into the accident at this time.
