Man Dies After Being Struck by Los Angeles Metro Train near Farmdale Avenue and Exposition Boulevard
LOS ANGELES, CA (December 12, 2019)—A man died Wednesday after a train struck him at the Farmdale station, located at Farmdale Avenue and Exposition Boulevard.
When the Los Angeles Police Department responded to the scene around 1:00 a.m., they found the victim, described as a man in his 40s.
Authorities learned that the victim was alone on the platform when he fell backward onto the tracks; however, it’s unclear what drove him to fall backward.
The operator of the train that struck him failed to stop since he or she had not realized the accident. Ten minutes later, a second train spotted the body on the tracks and stopped to alert authorities.
The train service was suspended following the accident and resumed in the late morning.
No arrests or citations have been made for the crash remains under investigation.
