Pedestrian Killed in Train Accident on Highway 273
REDDING, CA (April 30, 2019) – An unidentified male pedestrian was fatally struck by a train on Breslauer Way Monday morning, near Highway 273.
According to reports, officers arrived to the scene around 2:00 a.m. However, authorities are unsure what led to the collision.
It appears the Union Pacific Train was making its way from Dunsmuir to Roseville at the time.
Whether the 60-year-old pedestrian had been standing on the tracks at the time remains unclear, as well.
At this time, officials have decided not to release the victim’s name until the family has been notified. Authorities are currently looking deeper into this accident.
