Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Train in Santa Clarita
SANTA CLARITA, CA (March 21, 2019) – A freight train fatally struck a pedestrian Wednesday morning near Soledad Canyon Road and Ruether Avenue.
A Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher said a 12:45 a.m. call came in from Metrolink about a Union Pacific train hitting a pedestrian.
According to officials, paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Yet it is unclear as to what exactly happened moments prior.
The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, the Union Pacific Police and the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office are investigating the details of this crash to determine the cause.
