Pedestrian Hit, Killed by Train in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 15, 2019)—A pedestrian died Thursday morning after being struck by a train on Taylor Street near Pacific Highway.
The deadly incident unfolded in the 4000 block of Taylor Street around 11:30 a.m.
According to Sheriff’s officials, the man tried dashing across the train tracks while the crossing bell and warning signal were activated; however, the southbound Amtrak train struck him, killing him at the scene.
Reports did not indicate the man’s age or name. Due to the fatal crash, commuters faced delays and resorted to busses to reach their destination as crews investigated.
