Pedestrian Accident Turns Deadly in Oakland
OAKLAND, CA (May 16, 2019) – A man died in Wednesday’s pedestrian accident along Highway 24 near the 51st Street off-ramp.
According to reports, police responded to the eastbound lanes around 3:10 p.m. to find a man who had been struck by a Toyota Prius.
Not long after, paramedics responded, as well, and performed emergency life-saving efforts on the victim. However, despite these attempts, the man died shortly after.
Investigators learned that the victim had been walking a bicycle along the highway’s right side against the flow of traffic. No other information was available. However, an ongoing investigation continues.
