Motorcyclist Killed in Torrance Crash
TORRANCE, CA (April 24, 2019) – A man perished in a motorcycle crash Tuesday morning on Pacific Coast Highway near Rolling Hills Way.
The deadly event unfolded at approximately 9:35 a.m.
According to reports, a 29-year-old San Pedro man on a motorcycle collided with a pickup truck attempting a turn in front of him.
Police said in a statement that alcohol and drugs do not appear as factors in the crash. However, according to witnesses, speed may have played a role.
Drivers witnessed the motorcyclist race a light silver or gray Dodge Charger before crashing. However, the Dodge fled the scene thereafter.
The rider died at the scene and the pickup truck driver suffered minor injuries.
Authorities are investigating this case further, seeking witnesses’ help in determining the liabilities.
