Man Dies in Fiery Collision on Mountain View Road [Hughson, CA]

Hughson, CA (December 19, 2023) – A man was killed and a woman was injured following a fiery collision on Mountain View Road Sunday evening.

The fatal collision happened around 5:30 p.m. the area of East Hatch Road

Responding officers found two pickup trucks on fire and a man in one of the trucks died at the scene while the other truck was unoccupied. 

Officers said a woman in the truck got out of the vehicle with help from her husband who was driving a different vehicle. The woman was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the investigators, a driver was trying to pass another car while it wasn’t safe to do so. Officers said other cars were approaching when the car tried to unsafely pass and the driver made a last-minute corrections.

The investigators believe the truck’s male driver hit the woman driving the other truck head-on.

Officers are still investigating.
