Injuries Reported in San Diego Vehicle Crash on 1800 Howard Avenue

SAN DIEGO, CA (April 28, 2024) – Saturday morning, a disastrous auto accident on 1800 Howard Avenue injured 1 person.

The incident happened at about 3:50 a.m. near the 1800 block of Howard Avenue in the San Ysidro neighborhood, according to the San Diego Police Department.

“The driver fell asleep behind the wheel while traveling north on Howard Avenue when he collided with a 49-year-old man who was driving a Toyota 4Runner. During the collision, the 4Runner’s seats collapsed backward and the passenger stated there (has) no feeling below the waist,” the department revealed.

The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was transported to a hospital by medics after sustaining a fractured thoracic vertebra. 

Police have stated that driving under the influence was not deemed a factor in the crash, although no additional information is currently available.
