Driver, Girl Hurt in Solo-Car Crash in Modesto
MODESTO, CA (March 27, 2019) – Investigators are currently pursuing a solo-car accident on Las Palmas avenue, that injured a man and child Monday morning.
Dispatchers received calls about the collision around 8:50 a.m. Authorities identified the involved vehicle as a white Ford Taurus. The westbound Taurus reportedly slowed to a stop near Kewin Park, and began accelerating for unknown reasons.
Furthermore, reports indicate that the Ford crossed into traffic and veered onto the sidewalk before eventually striking a tree.
Police found the male driver unresponsive upon arrival. Firefighters extricated the male victim and transported him to a nearby hospital. Meanwhile, paramedics also airlifted the 10-year-old girl to a nearby hospital. She was said to have been suffering from head injuries and a possible concussion as a result of the impact.
Witnesses believed the driver might have experienced a medical emergency at the time of the collision. Authorities are currently investigating further to determine liability.
