Man and Child Killed by Pickup Truck while Crossing Garden Grove Intersection

 
GARDEN GROVE, CA (October 12, 2019) – A 60-year-old man and a 6-year-old boy were fatally struck by a vehicle Saturday evening in Garden Grove, officials said.
 
The incident happened around 8:50 p.m. on Garden Grove Boulevard near Benton Street.
 
According to the CHP, the victims were crossing the intersection when a pickup truck hit them. As a result, both were pronounced dead at the scene.
 
The driver of the pickup truck stayed at the location and cooperated with authorities.
 
Authorities had yet to release the identities of the victims, nor their relationship.
 
The cause of the crash was being investigated by the Garden Grove Police Department Traffic Unit. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Ashby at (714) 741-5823.
