SAN JOSE, CA (March 28, 2021) – Saturday morning, a male driver died in a hit-and-run crash on Monterey Road and Live Oak Avenue.
 
The incident involving two vehicles occurred at about 1:10 a.m., the San Jose police revealed. The high-speed hit-and-run crash occurred in the area of Monterey Road and Live Oak Avenue.
 
According to investigators, a southbound 2016 Hyundai Sonata on Monterey Road traveled at a high rate of speed. Then, it hit the rear-ended and crashed with a southbound 1998 Chevrolet truck.
 
As a result, the male truck driver died at the scene. Meanwhile, the Hyundai driver escaped the crash scene before the authorities arrive.
 
After the investigation, officers located the suspect at a residence in the 1800 block of Senter Road. Thus, they arrested him and took him into custody.
 
Meanwhile, the unidentified suspect will be booked into the Santa Clara County jail for various charges. His charges include vehicular manslaughter, felony driving under the influence, and fleeing the scene of an accident.
 
According to reports, the incident was the 8th deadly traffic crash for 2021.
