Malani Suduhakure Dies in Pedestrian Collision on West Cypress Avenue Near South J Street
LOMPOC, CA (December 21, 2018) – A 55-year-old woman was killed, and three people were injured after all four were struck by a vehicle on West Cypress Avenue near South J Street on Dec. 7.
Malani Suduhakure was identified as the Sri Lanka woman who died in the pedestrian collision. Around 5:10 p.m., Lompoc police responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a car and a group of pedestrians. The incident did not happen on the parade route, police said, and drugs and alcohol were not considered as factors in the crash.
Suduhakure was rushed to Lompoc Valley Medical Center where she underwent cardiac arrest and died at the hospital. Three pedestrians suffered moderate injuries and were treated and released.
The case is being handled by the authorities to determine the exact events that transpired in the crash.
