Man Dies in Two-Vehicle Collision in Madera
MADERA, CA (February 4, 2019) – A Friday night two-car accident at Avenue 12 and Road 25 left an 81-year-old man dead and two people injured.
The incident occurred around 6:15 p.m. The 81-year-old man was riding in a 2012 Chevy Malibu, driven by a 76-year-old male heading westbound on Avenue 12 approaching the intersection with Road 25.
Meanwhile, a Chevy Impala heading eastbound on Avenue 12, driven by a 29-year-old woman, suddenly made a left turn at the intersection with Avenue 25. Both Chevys collided at the intersection.
The Malibu and Impala drivers were injured and brought to Madera Hospital; however, the elderly pedestrian riding in the Malibu, who although was wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene.
CHP officers are investigating the ultimate cause of the crash and have ruled out drugs and alcohol as influences of the crash.
