17-Year-Old Lydia Koelzow Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash on Highway 132 [Sonora, CA]

Sonora, CA (December 28, 2023) On Tuesday evening, 17-year-old Lydia Koelzow of Sonora, died and, 20-year-old Sebastian Pendergast of La Grange was seriously hurt in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 132.

According to a California Highway Patrol (CHP), the tragic crash happened around 7:15 p.m. west of Zarzamora Street in Tuolumne County.

Reports say that westbound a 2008 Subaru Outback driven by Pendergast at a high rate of speed failed to stay on the road and crashed into a tree near Don Pedro Reservoir.

Sadly, the impact of the collision claimed Koelzow’s life while Pendergast suffered severe injuries and was airlifted to the University of California Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.

Authorities are investigating the fatal single-vehicle crash and have not released further information at this time.
