Luiza Karakhanyan and Joel White Die in Lamborghini Crash
ENCINO, CA (May 16, 2019) – A high-speed two-car crash on Burbank Boulevard near Hayvenhurst Avenue Wednesday night left two people dead.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the 7:30 p.m. accident involved a Lamborghini and a gray Jeep Cherokee.
Police say the eastbound red 2016 Lamborghini was traveling at speeds over 100 mph and slammed into the 2018 Jeep SUV making a left turn. As a result of the impact, the Lamborghini tore into two pieces and burst into flames after striking a tree.
Officials identified Luiza Vaagnovna Karakhanyan, 19, as one of the two victims who died at the scene. Joel David White, 25, has been identified as the second victim and the driver of the Lamborghini. In addition, police reported that he was the one who was been ejected in the accident.
The Jeep driver received minor injuries and remained at the crash site. He was cooperating with investigators, according to LAPD.
