Luciano Carmona-Garcia of Hayward Dies in International Boulevard Hit-and-Run Crash [Oakland, CA]

Oakland, CA (October 27, 2023) On Wednesday evening, 42-year-old Luciano Carmona-Garcia of Hayward died in a hit-and-run crash on International Boulevard.

According to the Oakland Police Department, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash happened at around 10:26 p.m. on the 4200 block of International Boulevard.

Reports say that the driver of a stolen Kia Sorento SUV was speeding in the eastbound lanes when it first collided with a Pontiac Vibe hatchback.

The impact of the crash caused the Kia to collide with a parked Ford Mustang and Chrysler Pacifica. Both vehicles were parked on the south curbside.

Unfortunately, Carmona-Garcia was on the sidewalk at the time of the crash and was pinned between the two vehicles and suffered major injuries.

Medics rushed the injured pedestrian to the hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to the serious injuries he suffered in the crash. Moreover, the Pontiac driver suffered minor injuries but was able to drive to a hospital on their own.

Meanwhile, the suspect driver fled on foot and is currently at large.

Authorities are investigating the fatal accident and have not released further details at this time.
