Lou Galgano Dies in Alleged DUI Accident on Highway 101 Near River Road
SEQUIM, WA (May 31, 2019) – A Port Angeles man died in an alleged DUI crash on Highway 101 near River Road Wednesday afternoon.
According to Washington State Patrol, the 5 p.m. crash involved a Mazda Tribute and a Ford Focus.
Authorities believe the Mazda Tribute was heading westbound on the highway and veered into the eastbound lanes where it collided with the Ford Focus.
Due to the severe impact, 27-year-old Lou Galgano died in the collision. The 25-year old Mazda Tribute driver suffered unknown injuries and refused medical treatment.
In the investigation, Troopers noted that drugs and alcohol did indeed play a role in the crash, yet a follow-up investigation is underway.
