Lorenzo Perez, Passenger Dead; Another Injured in Eight Mile Road Accident Near 5 Freeway
STOCKTON, CA (February 14, 2020)—Two teens, only one of whom has been identified, died in a fiery crash Tuesday on Eight Mile Road near the 5 Freeway.
One of the victims who perished during the solo-car crash has been described as a Bear Creek High School student.
According to reports Lorenzo Perez, 18, perished in the crash.
Officer Ruben Jones reported per witnesses that Perez had been driving erratically that Tuesday afternoon. Loved ones added that he was on his way to assist a friend in need.
However, at some point during his travel, Perez lost control and crashed into a tree on Eight Mile Road before the car burst into flames.
Perez, as well as another teen, died in the accident. A third passenger remains in the intensive care unit at a nearby hospital.
Because details remain unclear, authorities plan to examine this crash further.
