Lisa Reyes Arrested in DUI Police Chase Accident on Barnes Street
Simi Valley, CA (December 18, 2020) – On Wednesday, police arrested 52-year-old Lisa Reyes of Simi Valley in a police chase after a DUI crash on Barnes Street and Sequoia Avenue.
Police responded to the scene at about 6:40 p.m. and found the suspect’s vehicle fleeing the scene.
Police attempted to pull the vehicle over, however, Reyes, the driver did not yield. She refused to comply with the authorities.
As a result, police initiated a pursuit which ended on the 3200 block of Copley Street.
Police deployed a taser to subdue Reyes and took her into custody.
Furthermore, the investigation revealed Reyes was in an argument with another person who attempted to leave the area. That was when Reyes crashed her vehicle into the person’s car.
Police arrested Reyes on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon and felony elder abuse, as well as a litany of misdemeanor charges, including evading an officer, resisting arrest, and driving under the influence of alcohol.
Authorities booked her into the county jail where her bail was set at $65,000, according to online jail records. Similarly, she is due to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Friday in room 13 of Ventura County Superior Court.
