Levi Lopez Killed in Horrific Hit-and-Run Crash on Hutton Road [Nipomo, CA]

Nipomo, CA (September 26, 2024) On Tuesday afternoon, 37-year-old Levi Lopez of Nipomo, died after a horrific hit-and-run crash on Hutton Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened at about 4:15 p.m. at the intersection of Hutton Road and Joshua Street.

Reports say that, a tragic motorcycle accident resulted in the death of Lopez. Despite wearing safety gear, Lopez was fatally injured when his Harley-Davidson motorcycle collided with a Nissan pickup that made an abrupt U-turn on Hutton Road, directly in his path.

After the collision, the occupants of the truck, identified as 36-year-old Genaro Cortez Beltran of Bakersfield, attempted to flee the scene. However, an off-duty CHP officer quickly apprehended them. Authorities do not suspect drugs or alcohol as factors in the crash.
