Leopoldo Mondragon Dies in South Riverside Avenue Bicycle Accident [Rialto, CA]

Rialto, CA (October 11, 2023) On Saturday evening, 65-year-old Leopoldo Mondragon of Laguna Hills, died after a tragic bicycle accident on South Riverside Avenue.

According to the Rialto Police Department, the fatal crash happened around 7:05 p.m. in the area of 2400 South Riverside Avenue.

Reports say that 46-year-old Santos Lopez-Rosales was on a southbound white 2008 Hyundai Elantra, that rear-ended the bicycle Mondragon was riding. Officials say that Lopez-Rosales fled the scene before authorities arrived.

Officials say that Leopoldo Padilla Mondragon died at the scene.

Meanwhile, RPD located the suspect vehicle in the city of Bloomington, officers found evidence that tied the 46-year-old to the fatal hit and run collision.

Police are searching for Santos Lopez-Rosales, who remains at large.
