Lavelle Hayes Dies, Deputy Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Amargosa Road [Victorville, CA]

Amargosa Road Crash in Victorville Leaves Victorville Resident Lavelle Hayes Dead

 
Victorville, CA (April 12, 2021) – On Sunday, Lavelle Hayes, 23, died and a deputy was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Amargosa Road.
 
The fatal crash took place minutes after 9:30 P.M.
 
The deputy was northbound in a Victorville police cruiser responding to an unknown injury on Innovation Way at about 9:28 P.M.
 
At the same time, a man in his early 20’s was driving a 2012 BMW trying to turn from Tawney Ridge Lane onto Amargosa Road.
 
Consequently, the two vehicles crashed.
 
Due to the impact of the crash, the BMW overturned onto the sidewalk on the southbound side of Amargosa Road.
 
Authorities pronounced the BMW’s driver, Hayes, dead on the scene.
 
On the other hand, the deputy sustained non-fatal injuries. Responders took him to a local hospital with minor injuries.
 
Moreover, officers withheld the identities of the injured deputy and the deceased BMW driver.
 
Additionally, it was later confirmed that one person died in the crash that the deputy was initially responding to.
 
The Victorville Police Department continues to investigate the fatal accident.
