Laura Bryant Fatally Struck by 2 Cars on East Shaw Avenue Near North Cedar Avenue

 
FRESNO, CA (January 21, 2020) — A woman died Saturday night after being hit by two cars on East Shaw Avenue near North Cedar Avenue.
 
The incident unfolded near Fresno State University. Dispatchers arrived to the area shortly after.
 
Police later determined that Laura Bryant was running across East Shaw Avenue to get to a McDonald’s. As she crossed, a vehicle struck her in the third lane, casting her into the middle lane, where a second vehicle struck her.
 
Clues led officers to believe that she’d been hit outside of a crosswalk and under poor lighting conditions.
 
The first driver pulled over and contacted authorities. In addition, officers say the first driver tried avoiding the imminent collision, but it had been too late.
 
At this time, authorities are searching for the second driver of the car but do not have a description of the vehicle.
