Larry Mangrobang Sr. Dies in Multi-Vehicle Accident on White Lane [Bakersfield, CA]

Unidentified Victim Pronounced Dead in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Grissom Street in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 13, 2020) – Tuesday afternoon, Larry Mangrobang Sr. died in a multi-vehicle accident on White Lane in southwest Bakersfield.
 
According to reports, Bakersfield Police officers came to the crash scene on White Lane and Grissom Street upon reports of a traffic crash around 2:33 p.m. The collision involved a black Honda Civic, a semi-truck, a white Nissa Versa, and a white Chrysler Town Country van.
 
Witnesses later revealed that the Honda was heading east on White Lane. However, it drove through a red light as it entered the intersection on Grissom Street. As a result, the Honda crashed with the semi-truck that was turning south on Grissom Street at White Lane.
 
The Bakersfield Police Department added that the Honda eventually struck two other vehicles that were stopped in the intersection in the northbound lanes of Grissom Street.
 
Due to the impact, the Honda driver suffered major injuries. Responders transported him to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, the other drivers of the vehicles involved, as well as its passengers, remained uninjured.
 
Authorities do not believe that alcohol, drugs, and speed were factors in the collision. At this time, the Kern County Coroner’s office has not released the identity of the deceased.
 
The record showed that the incident on White Lane is the tenth deadly crash in Bakersfield. Authorities are encouraging anyone with information to contact BPD at (661) 327-7111.
