Kylie Blackmore Hospitalized in Highway 14 Deadly Pedestrian Accident Near West I Avenue
LANCASTER, CA (January 17, 2020)—A man died Wednesday night following a pedestrian accident on Highway 14 near West I Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 11:57 p.m. along the northbound highway.
Authorities believe the pedestrian attempted to cross from the right shoulder to the center divider when a northbound 2013 Chevrolet Cruze struck him.
Due to the pedestrian running at the time, 26-year-old Kylie Blackmore failed to spot him in due time and react with haste.
The unidentified man died at the scene shortly after and police have yet to release his identity.
Blackmore, of Rosamond, sustained cuts to her face and chest pains. Paramedics brought her to Antelope Valley Hospital for further treatment.
Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be driving factors of this incident, but police plan to investigate why the man had been on the highway at the time.
