Kelli Bjorlin, Victor Health Among 5 Injured in Car Accident Near Bowman Road and Sebastian Court
COTTONWOOD, CA (April 9, 2019) – Five people, including two children, suffered injuries in a two-car accident near Bowman Road and Sebastian Court Sunday morning.
Around 10:55 a.m., Kelli Bjorlin, of Happy Valley, was driving a 2006 Chevy Malibu eastbound on Bowman Road. The 33-year-old driver attempted a right turn onto a street yet entered the incorrect lane at the time.
Subsequently, Bjorlin’s Chevy veered into the path of a 2008 Toyota Corolla, driven by 50-year-old Victor Health, of Redding.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Health immediately applied his brakes, but the two cars crashed in the westbound lanes. The impact sent the Toyota spinning before coming to a rest in the westbound lane. Meanwhile, the Chevy veered off the road and rammed into a power pole.
Bjorlin, a 4-year-old and a 6-year-old – both of whom were occupants of the Chevy – suffered moderate to major injuries.
In the Corolla, Health, as well as his 42-year-old male passenger, suffered moderate injuries.
Per the CHP, neither alcohol nor drugs played a role in the crash. However, an investigation concerning the ultimate cause is underway.
