69-Year-Old Katherine Trout Hospitalized on Highway 89 Vehicle Crash
Plumas County, CA (February 23, 2021) – On Thursday, 69-year-old Katherine Trout of Taylorsville was injured in a solo vehicle crash on Highway 89.
The incident happened at 3:25 p.m. south of Wolf Creek.
39-year-old Christopher Barton, also from Taylorsville, was driving a 2013 Toyota Tacoma too fast traversing a left curve on the roadway.
The vehicle’s rear tires lost traction and began to fishtail in a southbound direction.
Unfortunately, he was unable to regain control of the vehicle and it crossed from the southbound lane and crashed into a tree.
Barton exited the vehicle and called 911 for help.
Right away, rescuers took Trout, Barton’s passenger, to Plumas District Hospital with minor injuries.
Both Trout and Barton were wearing their safety belts during the crash.
As a responsible driver, make sure to avoid distractions that can lead to serious car accidents.
Dealing With Auto Accidents
Roadways, while scrupulously created and mapped for efficient travel, are one of the most dangerous settings.
Thus, it is crucial that everyone remain calm in order to properly handle the immediate aftermath of an automobile collision.
Here are the things that we need to do in case of a vehicle accident:
Before anything else, seek medical attention if you have been hurt.
Then, get to a safe place to prevent further damage or injury.
Also, collect as much information as possible: insurance and contact information of people involved in the accident, pictures/videos of vehicles involved, etc.
Do not forget to file a police report or incident report by calling 911.
Finally, hire an experienced personal injury attorney from Sweet Lawyers.
The most valuable step you can take in response to a vehicle crash is hiring a personal injury attorney. Mark Sweet, a personal injury attorney at Sweet Lawyers, says that serious car accident cases may call for a separate investigation spearheaded by an experienced lawyer fighting on behalf of the injured party.
