Karishma Kumar, Mario Orozco, Steven Jefferies and Anna Bostrom Involved in Multi-Car Pileup on Stony Point Road Near Hearn Avenue
SANTA ROSA, CA (November 28, 2018) – Three people were hospitalized Monday afternoon in a multi-vehicle pile-up on Stony Point Road near Hearn Avenue.
Anna Bostrom, of Santa Rosa, informed officials that she had been texting while driving northbound on Stony Point Road.
While traffic was coming to a stop around 2:45 p.m. Bostrom’s Honda Pilot SUV plowed into the rear of a Honda Civic, driven by 69-year-old Steven Jefferies, of Santa Rosa. Jefferies’ Honda Civic was then pushed into the southbound lane while Bostrom’s Honda Pilot struck a southbound vehicle head-on and sent another car into a tree.
Karishma Kumar, 26, and Mario Orozco, 59 – both of Santa Rosa – were the two southbound drivers. Kumar reportedly suffered a broken arm and a critical knee injury while Orozco and Jeffries suffered minor injuries. All three patients were brought to area hospitals, including Kumar who remained at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital as of Tuesday.
Bostrom, 18, was not harmed in the crash but remains at fault for texting and driving at unsafe speeds.
