Juvenile Passenger Injured in Highway 99 Fatal Crash [Fresno, CA]

Fresno, CA (December 30, 2023) – A juvenile was injured following a Highway 99 fatal crash early Thursday morning.

CHP received the single-vehicle rollover crash report at 4:50 a.m. on the southbound freeway south of the Atwater Merced Expressway near Atwater.

Officers said a juvenile male driver and a juvenile passenger were southbound in a 2010 Dodge Charger at an unknown speed. 

CHP officers said the Dodge left the roadway and drove onto the west shoulder where it rolled over.

Sadly, the driver succumbed to his crash injuries at the scene while the passenger was rushed to an area hospital in Modesto.

Officers are investigating if alcohol or drugs played a role.

This fatal collision is under investigation.
