Joshua Garcia Arrested for DUI in Los Angeles Car Crash

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (February 25, 2019) – Five people, including an alleged DUI driver, were injured Friday in a pedestrian accident. The crash sent the car crashed vehicles into nearby pedestrians on North Chicago Street at East 1st Street.
 
The incident happened around 1:00 p.m. when Joshua Garcia’s Toyota Camry collided with a Toyota Sienna minivan after it had run a red light. The impact sent the two cars striking two women and a male bicyclist in a crosswalk. A bus stop was also destroyed during the mayhem.
 
Witnesses say the Camry driver, later identified as Garcia, tried tossing out a beer can or bottle before he and his passenger fled on foot.; however, Garcia was tackled by a witness who held him down until police arrived.
 
According to officers, Garcia smelled of alcohol at the scene. He was subsequently brought to custody where he underwent a field sobriety test.
 
The two women, the bicyclist, the driver of the Toyota minivan, as well as Garcia, were injured in the wreck. Those injured were ages 20 to 61 years old. All five patients were shuttled to LA County USC Medical Center with moderate to severe injuries.
 
An ongoing investigation of this crash is underway.
