Joseph Spear Dies in Solo-Car Accident With Tree on East El Norte Parkway Near North Fig Street
ESCONDIDO, CA (December 13, 2019) — A 42-year-old man died in Monday’s high-speed solo-vehicle accident on East El Norte Parkway near North Fig Street.
Joseph Lee Spear perished in the Chevrolet Corvette crash that betided earlier this week.
According to reports, Spear was a passenger in a Chevrolet Corvette driven by a 29-year-old. Investigators learned that the Corvette had been speeding westbound on El Norte Parkway around 7:50 p.m. before the vehicle traveled off the road and struck a fire hydrant and a tree.
The sports car sustained significant damage, and Spear suffered grave injuries.
Paramedics wasted no time and transported both the driver and passenger to Palomar Medical Center where Spear died 40 minutes later.
The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries; however, it’s still uncertain whether impairment played a role in the accident.
