Joe Hunt Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Vehicle on Highway 1 Near Struve Road
MOSS LANDING, CA (March 28, 2019) – A 25-year-old New Hampshire man died in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Highway 1 near Struve Road Saturday morning.
The parents of Joseph James Hunt are recalling memories of their 25-year-old son who died Saturday morning.
Hunt, of Sandown, N. H., lost his life when a hit-and-run vehicle struck him on the northbound shoulder of Highway 1. According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver fled the scene, leaving officers to find his lifeless body around 9 a.m.
Authorities are investigating the clues and details of this crash to determine the driver’s whereabouts.
Hunt recently left New Hampshire to gallivant to other parts of the country, according to his parents. When the incident occurred, he traveled alone on Highway 1, although his parents are unsure to where he was traveling at the time.
Hunt died from significant head and body trauma and his parents have yet to travel to California to collect his body.
