DUI Crash on Highway 245 in Exeter, Injures Gabriela Cisneros and Jose Vazquez
EXETER, CA (October 24, 2019) – Six people were injured following a DUI Crash Thursday afternoon in Exeter.
The crash happened around 4:32 p.m. on Highway 245 at Avenue 300. According to the CHP, a 41-year-old Gabriela Cisneros of Lindsay was driving a 2006 Toyota westbound on Avenue 300, just east of Highway 245 at an unknown speed. At the same time, a 29-year-old Jose Vasquez of Woodlake was driving a 2016 Chevrolet southbound on Highway 245, just north of Avenue 300 at approximately 55 mph.
For unknown reasons, Cisneros failed to stop at the posted stop sign for Highway 245. She proceeded into the intersection directly into the path of the Chevrolet.
Vazquez did not have sufficient time or space to properly react and crashed into the right passenger door of the Toyota.
The impact caused both vehicles to travel in a southwesterly direction. The Chevrolet came to rest on the west shoulder of the highway while the Toyota overturned on its roof.
Vazquez and his passengers, two of which were young children including an infant, exited their vehicle. After that, a ground ambulance took them to Kaweah Delta Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.
Cisneros and her child were transported to Kaweah Delta District Hospital via ground ambulance.
Authorities said alcohol and drugs appear to be factors in the crash.
