Jose Mendoza Detained, Four Hospitalized After Hit-And-Run Car Accident in Fresno
FRESNO, CA (MAY 23, 2019) – On Thursday, four people were injured and Jose Mendoza was arrested in a hit-and-run DUI accident on Iowa Avenue.
According to the Fresno Police Department, the crash happened just after 5:00 PM near 3rd Street. Officers stated Mendoza was driving a Lexus sedan when it collided with a Suzuki SUV. As a result, it caused the SUV to flip over. In addition, a power pole was also knocked down. However, the cause of the accident is currently unknown.
Paramedics transported the family of four which included a grandmother, mother and two children to a local hospital. Their current medical condition is unclear at this time. Hence, are expected to be ok.
Authorities stated Mendoza fled the scene on foot with two kids. He was later arrested and is facing multiple felony charges including hit-and-run, DUI, and child endangerment.
