2 Hospitalized after Douglas County Car Accident on Highway 2
DOUGLAS COUNTY, WA (June 10, 2020) – Sunday night, Jose Cararez and passenger suffered injuries in a DUI crash on Highway 2.
According to WSP, 26-year-old Jose G. Cararez allegedly crashed his speeding Dodge Avenger while drunk. Furthermore, Cararez crashed into a Douglas County fire tender outside East Wenatchee. The collision led his vehicle to overturn and land on its top.
The fire district truck responded to the scene and towed the wrecked vehicle.
After the crash, the authorities administered a detour on Highway 2. The detour remained for around three hours near Blue Grade Road after the wreck.
Then, responders transported Jose Cararez and a passenger to Central Washington Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Monday morning, Trooper John Bryant revealed that Jose Cararez currently remains in the hospital. However, a judge approved a blood draw, and thus Cararez received drunken driving charges.
Bryant also revealed that Cararez traveled despite a suspended license.
