Jorge Lindayen Dies in Two-Vehicle Wreck on Sonoma Boulevard Near Lewis Brown Drive
VALLEJO, CA (February 12, 2019) – The 70-year-old Vallejo man who perished Friday night in a two-car wreck along Sonoma Boulevard near Lewis Brown Road has been identified.
Jorge Macaraeg Lindayen was driving a 2000 Saturn SL1 around 8:13 p.m. northbound on Sonoma Boulevard. Under unknown circumstances, the Vallejo man allowed his vehicle to cross over the center median and into the southbound lanes where it was struck on the passenger side by a blue 1999 Dodge Durango.
Lindayen was gravely injured in the crash and immediately rushed to a local area hospital where he died. The 41-year-old Vallejo woman operating the Dodge Durango suffered minor injuries. She is cooperating with police investigators.
Officers are working to determine whether alcohol played a role in the crash. Speed, however, does not appear to be a factor.
To those mourning the sudden loss of Jorge Macaraeg Lindayen, we’d like to send our thoughts and condolences to you during this delicate time.
