Jonna Rane and Boy Die, Jamie Hudson and Other Children Hospitalized in Head-On Packwood Crash
LEWIS COUNTY, WA (February 28, 2019) – A woman and 10-year-old died Saturday around 2:00 p.m. in a head-on accident on Highway 12.
Police stated 39-year-old Jonna Rane of England and her 10-year-old passenger were in a 2017 Ford Escape. Soon after, Washington State Troopers stated the vehicle crossed the center divider. The Ford struck 36-year-old Jamie Hudson of Selah, who was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse.
As a result, Rane and the 10-year old boy suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
Hudson and her five passengers – ages 4 to 13 – were injured. Hudson was brought to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center while the children were taken to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma.
Authorities are investigating the ultimate cause and are unsure whether Rane and the child were wearing their seatbelts.
More on this crash is still under investigation.
