Jonathan Rosete Killed in DUI Car Accident in Dixon
DIXON, CA (November 7, 2019) — A Sacramento man died Tuesday night in an alleged DUI car collision on the 80 Freeway near Currey Road.
According to the Solano County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office, officials identified the fatal victim as 23-year-old Jonathan Rosete.
California Highway Patrol Officer David Harvey said the 10:42 p.m. incident happened on the eastbound side. According to CHP, Rosete crashed his 2007 Honda Accord into a 2013 Ford Escape after attempting a lane change from the No. 2 to the No. 3 lane.
CHP added that the Honda had been traveling above the 65-mph speed limit when it struck the slower moving Ford.
Due to the impact, the Ford overturned and came to a stop on the right side of the shoulder. Meanwhile, the Honda traveled eastbound and came to a stop in some nearby bushes.
Reports confirmed that the 71-year-old Silveyville female Ford driver suffered minor injuries and required medical attention at Kaiser hospital in Vacaville. Unfortunately, Rosete died in the collision.
In their investigation, authorities learned that impairment likely played a role in the collision. However, the CHP is actively investigating the crash. Anyone who holds information should call the CHP Solano Area Office at 707-428-2100 and ask for Officer A. Skinner.
