State Route 17 Head-On Crash Injures Jonathan Dillon-Ward and Lynette Alling

 
Fort Dick, CA (March 19, 2021) – On Wednesday, 25-year-old Jonathan Dillon-Ward of Smith River and 50-year-old Lynette Alling of Crescent City, were injured in a crash on State Route 197.
 
The road accident happened at about 5:30 p.m. near Charlie Drive in Del Norte County.
 
Dillon-Ward was driving southbound in an Acura sedan when he lost control of his vehicle. He crossed over the double yellow lines into oncoming traffic.
 
As a result, the Acura crashed head-on into a northbound GMC pickup truck driven by Alling.
 
Right away, rescuers took Dillon-Ward to Sutter Coast Hospital by Del Norte Ambulance for suffering major injuries. They also took Alling to the same hospital for suffering moderate injuries.
 
Moreover, officers said neither drug nor alcohol impairment were factors in the accident.
 
Authorities are still investigating the incident.
