John Moyle Dies in Pedestrian Crash Involving Train Near G and 2nd Streets
DAVIS, CA (March 22, 2019) – An Amtrak train fatally struck a pedestrian Wednesday afternoon near G and 2nd streets at the Davis train station.
Authorities are investigating the ultimate cause of the deadly pedestrian accident that occurred at 1:53 p.m.
According to reports, eastbound Capitol Corridor train 530 struck the 44-year-old man, later delaying train travel by nearly half an hour.
John Noah Moyle, of Davis, died in the incident and reportedly dashed in front of the train as it pulled into the station, according to Davis police Lt. Paul Doroshov. Doroshov believes this happened after examining security video and witness statements.
All 26 passengers or crew members on board the train escaped the accident unharmed. However, Moyle’s death still remains under investigation.
