John Matias of Mather Dies in Bicycle Crash on Zinfandel Drive [Rancho Cordova, CA]

Rancho Cordova, CA (January 03, 2022) – On Saturday, 46-year-old John Matias of Mather died in a bicycle crash on Zinfandel Drive.

The fatal crash happened after 7 p.m. just south of International Drive.

Officers said a southbound driver in the far right lane when struck Matias who was attempting to cross the roadway. 

Unfortunately, Matias succumbed to his injuries bicyclist at the scene of the crash. 

Meanwhile, the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement personnel.
