John Jasper Dies in Single-Vehicle Accident on Freds Oak Road Near Highway 286
BURKE, VA (January 16, 2019) – A 72-year-old Fairfax Station man was killed Saturday after his vehicle struck a parked car at the Burke Centre Library on Freds Oak Road near Highway 286.
The incident was reported at approximately 1:45 p.m. at the Burke Centre Library.
Officials reported that 72-year-old John Jasper was in his car dropping off mail at the sidewalk post mailbox when witnesses saw him accelerate across the parking lot and strike an unoccupied parked Hyundai Accent. The Hyundai then struck a Mazda 3.
Life-saving efforts were rendered to Jasper before he was brought to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities are investigating this crash and so far, police believe he suffered a medical emergency at the time.
