Joel Broussard Dead in Sacramento Multi-Vehicle Accident on 5 Freeway

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (September 10, 2020) – Tuesday night, 39-year-old Joel Broussard died, and two others suffered injuries in an 11-vehicle crash on the 5 Freeway.
 
The multi-vehicle accident happened in the southbound lane of Interstate 5, near Florin Road.
 
According to the CHP, a big rig didn’t slow down as it drove into slower traffic. As a result, the big rig collided into 10 other vehicles, leaving Mr. Broussard, an Elk Grove man in a Chrysler 300, dead at the scene.
 
Furthermore, responders transported two other people with major injuries. At this time, the authorities ruled drugs or alcohol as a factor in the collision.
 
Meanwhile, the CHP revealed that the big rig overturned and blocked all southbound lanes. Thus, officials diverted the traffic to Florin Road during the cleanup.
 
Due to the crash, the traffic was stalled for a couple of miles on the southbound 5 Freeway.
