1 Dead in Tyler Multi-Vehicle Accident on Loop 323 and Pointe N Drive

TYLER, TX (May 11, 2023) – Wednesday, Jimmy Hayes died in a multi-vehicle wreck on Loop 323 and Pointe N Drive.

The incident occurred just before 3:08 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of WNW Loop 323. Reports revealed that three vehicles in the eastbound turn lane of Loop 323 stopped and waited to turn north onto Pointe N Drive.

Meanwhile, 75-year-old Hayes of Tyler drove his Ford F-150 east. Then, he veered left from the straight lane of traffic into the turn lane. Then, he hit the rear vehicle that had stopped in the turn lane.

As a result, the rear vehicle was pushed forward into the vehicle in front of it, and so on to the next two vehicles.

As a result, responders took one occupant of the other vehicles to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
