Jessica Mauldin and Wyatt Coble Hospitalized in Deadly Car Accident on Highway 44 Near Airport Way
SHINGLETOWN, CA (March 25, 2019) – A two-vehicle accident on Highway 44 near Airport Way Saturday afternoon resulted in one fatality and two injuries.
According to officials, Wyatt William Coble crossed over the center median from the eastbound lane and collided with a westbound Ford Explorer under unknown circumstances.
The force of the 12:40 p.m. collision killed a 29-year-old man from Shingletown riding with Coble.
Meanwhile, Coble suffered moderate injuries while the 36-year-old female Ford driver – Jessica Erin Mauldin of Susanville – suffered major injuries. In addition, a 6-year-old in the Ford SUV suffered minor injuries.
At this time, authorities are perplexed as to why 24-year-old Coble allowed his Volkswagen Jetta to veer into the opposing lane in the first place. Thus far, they do not suppose impairment played a role.
